CALL FOR RECRUITMENT
HBIM-Heritage Building Information Modeling specialist, able to realize, draft and grooming BIM projects, as well as their management, in line with the standards and institutionalized procedures, through the acute use of updated software and technological devices. If you are interested in HBIM (Heritage Building Information Modelling) and want to learn more about this information modelling methodology for historic and heritage buildings, you are in the right place.
The person we are looking for is an enthusiastic architect, civil engineer or a surveyor with strong design skills and a proven track record of coordinating and implementing design processes for small, medium and big projects.
You need to be a member of the ETEK/CY or any other accredited EU Chamber of Engineers with at least five years of project running experience. You need to demonstrate experience of design coordination, procurement processes, and sustainable construction methods and detailing who can work independently and has effective leadership and organisational skills. Therefore, we aim at the use of BIM in the area of Cultural Heritage: 3D Reconstruction, Recovery and Restoration, Digital Fabrication, Urban and Architectural Design. The individual designer will be able to update the design methodology in line with the most recent advices of European directives.
We are seeking a BIM experienced professional with an Architectural, Civil Engineering and Surveying background with exceptional BIM / Digital skills and in-depth understanding of ancient and Digital Construction/Reconstruction concepts to complement our expanding team of Digital specialists.
You will be based at headquarters of the newly established Research Center MNEMOSYNE / UNESCO Chair on Digital Heritage at the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol, but you will be required to travel as and when required.
You will work alongside the personel of the Research Center, Manager and Technology Director and assist them with:
The production and implementation of the Research Center/UNESCO Chairs templates, standards, and procedures
Supporting the strategic direction and development of BIM
The implementation of supporting software for BIM
The implementation of REVIT across the Chair
Support of other related CAD and BIM applications, including freeform surface software
The production, review & approval of BIM Execution Plans to ensure compliance with Employers Information Requirements and relevant British and international standards
Providing REVIT and associated training and support for other new staff
Defining and conducting REVIT, and associated software, workflow seminars
You will also:
Help to resolve hardware, update software and if its needed pre-process/filter scan data from monuments’/artefacts/sites.
Raise awareness and the profile of BIM and within all areas of the UNESCO Chair including Research and Innovation, Development, Work Winning / Bidding, Design, Delivery, etc.
Identify new, relevant, BIM Technologies and introduce across the Research Center/UNESCO Chair on DCH where appropriate
Define and implement quality control processes for project-related internal workflows
Liaise with industry bodies, Cultural Heritage stakeholders / Digital conservation environments to help maintain the Unesco Chairs and of the University position as a leader in the field of Digital Cultural Heritage
Liaise with Cultural Heritage stakeholders, other specialists in our domain and consultants in the preparation of project BIM standards and execution plans
Liaise with clients, consultants and extended supply chain to identify and accommodate requirements & capabilities to coordinate and optimise workflows
Advise on best practice and project strategy to ensure the correct BIM outcome is achieved
Oversee quality control of internal workflows and work sharing with external parties and ensure compliance with the Cyprus University of Technology employer’s information requirements
Liaise with 3rd-party consultants in the development of supporting BIM software and processes
Promote sustainability strategies in all of our activities at the Research Center/UNESCO Chair and full sustainability integration in the design process
SKILLS:
Advanced knowledge of the REVIT and/or ArchiCAD and/or AutoCAD software essential in all scales of LOD (100-500)
Advanced knowledge of associated software / platforms for the construction/reconstruction of geometric primitives, including polygon meshes, Bézier curves, NURBS surfaces - freeform surface packages such as Blender, Rhino3D or SolidWorks.
Advanced knowledge of all BIM workflows, standards and best practice
Good working knowledge of Photoshop
Good working knowledge of the BS and ISO 19650 suite of BIM documents
Understanding of the Construction Industry Council (CIC) BIM Protocol
Excellent communicator in English and team player
Knowledge of visualization technologies and their place in the BIM workflow
Good working knowledge of the state of the art in IT for Architects and the Architectural process.
Employment: Full-Time job at the promises of the Cyprus University of Technology.
SALARY: Depending on qualifications up to 3.000 Euro / month net
START of Work: as of 1st of June or later
PERIOD of WORK: at least 18 months.
